Celebrities, they’re just like us.
They walk like us. Raise families like us. And once a year, they dress up in elaborate costume and make-up to ward off ghosts just like us.
In the immortal words of Bill Belichick, who all things considered would not immediately be branded a #HalloweenGuy:
“It’s a great holiday. Candy and costumes. How can you beat that?”
And the star athletes of the Bucs and Bolts are no exception. Some of them all-caps SHOWED OUT this Halloween. Others took to a more familial ensemble—a respectable “Doing it for the kids.”
From hilarious to wholesome, here are some of the best costumes put on by Tampa Bay’s biggest ballers.
Winner: Nick Paul as Goldmember
Hey, everybody! Nick Paul is from Holland! Isn’t that veird?
An outstanding effort top-to-bottom from the Lightning favorite, from the detail in the eyebrows to the Foxy Cleopatra pistol. Swipe right for an elite recreation of Goldmember’s “legs up” skate-around in the third Austin Powers installment.
Tom Brady enjoys Halloween just as much as you’d imagine
When you’re the most famous athlete in the world, currently dominating headlines and gossip columns for both professional and personal reasons, it probably feels spectacular to walk about the general public as not that person. You and I feel a sense of normalcy when we go on a bike ride or go see a movie. Tom Brady can only reach such latitudes of peace by throwing on an enormous grim reaper robe for a walk around the neighborhood.
Blaine Gabbert: Pirate or Nightman from Always Sunny?
Leaning toward the former. Desperately hoping for the latter.
Who did it better, Alex Killorn or Tommy Lee?
The Pam & Tommy costumes popped off in 2022 thanks to Seth Rogen. Need a hard-hitting journalist to ask Killorn how long it took to scrub those temporary tattoos off. Asking for a friend.
Ross Colton in Flavortown doesn’t exist, he can’t hurt you
Guy Fieri would like to have a word with that soul patch.
Offensive Linemen, Inc.
What? No, that’s not me melting in my desk chair to Donovan Smith’s dog as Mike Wazowski…
Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Bubs
I take it back. Mr. Bubs and Dog Wazowski may have won Halloween.
A sincere thank you to Vita Vea and Donovan Smith for supplying us with some high-octane serotonin today.
