The Identity Tampa Bay recommends three things to do this weekend:
Twin Suns, Chlorinefields & The Drain Outs
Friday 8 p.m. | Hooch & Hive, Tampa
Behold, a stellar Friday trio of top-notch surf & garage rock.
We’ve covered The Drain Outs at Gasparilla Music Festival in the past (excellent). And billed them for our annual 727to813 celebration in 2022 (rocked).
Twin Suns brings a similar indie sound of surf rock and psychedelia for an electric live show. All while you chow down on tasty fried chicken sliders and sip on old fashioneds at the Hooch & Hive bar. Party time.
Tampa Bay Rowdies Home Opener
Saturday 7:30 p.m. | Al Lang Stadium, St. Pete
Rowdies soccer is back, baby!
The best sports entertainment value in the bay kicks off in St. Pete this weekend with a matchup against Indy Eleven. The Rowdies have reached the USL Championship Final two of the last three seasons and are in the mix to take home their third championship in club history.
Tickets start at $15 for the first of 17 home matches this season. And let’s just say the beers are cheaper than at RayJay.
Rough Riders St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Saturday 7 p.m. | 7th Avenue, Ybor City
Wet your St. Patrick’s Day whistle with the most iconic parade of them all.
The Rough Riders are bringing the green back to Ybor for their annual parade down 7th Ave Saturday night. As if you needed an excuse to have a pint and a whiskey in Tampa’s bar-heavy historic district. The parade is free to the public, including a post-parade walk down to James Joyce for more Irish-laden festivities.
Alright, that last part we just made up. But it’s not the worst idea.
