The Identity Tampa Bay recommends three things to do this weekend:
Fourth & Angel Dog Park Grand Opening
Saturday 10 a.m. – Noon | Fourth & Angel Dog Park, Ybor City
If you haven’t heard, the Burg’s beloved Pete’s Bagels is expanding into Ybor City in the spring. But before that happens, its adjacent front-yard dog park has its grand opening on the corner of 4th Ave and 18th Street this Saturday morning.
The morning’s festivities include a ribbon cutting, pictures with Santa, Chill Bros. pup cups and hot chocolate, coffee and snacks from Café Quiqiuriqui, and even a little sneak peak at Pete’s fine goods. Bring your pup and start your weekend off on a high note at one of Tampa’s more intriguing new locales.
Tampa Holiday Boat Parade
Saturday 6 p.m. | Downtown Tampa
Last week we hit you with the St. Pete Lighted Boat Parade. So to leave out City of Tampa’s annually spectacular affair would simply be negligent.
The parade route will mosey about the Hillsborough River, Davis Islands and Downtown Basin before its finale at Sparkman Wharf, where judging will go down for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the motorboat and sailboat competitions. All signs lead to a grand affair. And if there’s one thing this city does right, it’s boat parades.
Be sure to check in on Saturday’s weather. If it’s a little too choppy out there, the city is prepared to move the event to Sunday.
Ol’ Dirty Sundays feat. Jadakiss
Sunday 9 p.m. | Crowbar, Ybor City
When it’s the last ODS of the year, you get a bona fide hip-hop legend to emcee. Them’s the rules. And Crowbar is following them accordingly.
Jadakiss will be in the house Sunday night to lead a righteous lineup of Pusha Preme, Heavy Lyrics, Famous Kid Brick and, of course, your boys DJ Casper, DJ Fader and DJ Deacon. Choice courtyard eats will be rolling per usual from Clam Master Jay. Doors open at 9 p.m.
