The Identity Tampa Bay recommends three things to do this weekend:
3 Daughters Brewing Food Truck Rally
Friday 6 – 10 p.m. | Downtown St. Pete
It’s the oldest after-work formula in the books at 3 Daughters Brewing Friday night.
Cold local beer, delicious accompanying eats and live music.
La Strada, Wheelin’ & Grillin’, Go Stuff Urself and more will be parking their mobile and magnificent culinary institutions at your convenience while Uncle John’s Band is set to hit the stage at 8 p.m. Go stuff yourself, indeed.
When Tigers Used To Smoke: The Experience
Saturday 7 p.m. – 12 a.m. | Centro Asturiano de Tampa, Ybor City
The phrase “When tigers used to smoke…” is traditionally used in Korean folklore to denote a point in time long, long ago—in which everything feels a bit different from what the listener might know or expect.
It’s a spot-on title for storyteller Sam E. Hues’s newest album set to drop this Friday, and even more according for its album release party slated for Saturday night. What could you possibly imagine from an eye-opening lineup of Hues, Junkyrd, Scxtt Aye, Barely Legal, and T. Couture performing in the grandiose spotlight of Ybor’s Centro Asturiano?
The night has all the makings of a rare, had-to-be-there concert experience. But just maybe, we’ll all walk out spectacularly wrong about whatever it is we expected. It may just be that special.
Tickets are $15 presale, $20 at the door.
Oktoberfest Pig Roast 2022
Saturday 4 p.m. | Zydeco Brew Werks, Ybor City
Did we mention this weekend is Week 0 of college football?
Which means come Saturday, you’ll need a place with ample TVs, supreme bar food, and preferably an Oktoberfest situation in which a suckling pig roast is present. Since that particular lineup seems a bit farfetched—
Wait, hold on a minute… It seems this exact scenario does in fact exist at Zydeco Brew Werks this Saturday, in which Bavarian brews and bites will be tacked onto the Cajun eatery’s already standout menu. The Live Music and College Football (and Suckling Pig) Gods apparently smile upon us.
