The Identity Tampa Bay recommends three things to do this holiday break:
A Night of Lights
Thursday 5 – 8 p.m. | Water Street Tampa
As the old tales say, the fifth night of Chanukah is always the craziest.
Or at least it is when you have a massive ice-carving of a dreidel and a grand menorah lighting in one of Tampa’s most festive scenes.
Water Street Tampa’s “A Night of Lights” is going down in Raybon Plaza Thursday night, featuring live entertainment from Miami Boys Choir and The Big Picture Band; fresh falafel, latkes, doughnuts and chocolates; cold beer and, of course, kosher French and Israeli wine. The party starts at 5 p.m. and is free for all ages.
Kristopher James Live at The Tampa Edition
Thursday 8 p.m. | Arts Club, The Tampa Edition
We find that the best way to wind down after a few glasses of Israeli wine is to imbibe in some live soul music. Perhaps at Tampa’s newest, paramount nightlife experience in Water Street Tampa. And specifically to the local, tasty licks of Kristopher James, Tucker Sody, Vinny Svoboda and the fellas.
The concert is free up in the Arts Club at The Tampa Edition. And if you’re familiar with Tampa’s singer-songwriter scene, you know that Kristopher James is one-of-a-kind—often at his best in intimate settings such as these.
Christmas at The Pier
Saturday 6 p.m. | The St. Pete Pier
Christmas Eve isn’t complete without a pit stop at the St. Pete Pier, where live music, photos with Santa, hot chocolate, cookies by Kraft Café and more await on what looks to be a crystal clear night. It also may be one of the coldest nights of the year, but let’s be honest, you didn’t want another Hot Christmas anyway. The Eve’s festivities kick off at 6 p.m.
