The Identity Tampa Bay recommends three things to do this weekend:
Red Bull Mind the Gap
Friday 5 p.m. | Armature Works, Tampa
Pro skaters, amateurs, spectators and avid fans.
The opportunity is finally nigh to rip a heroic sesh at Downtown Tampa’s previously forbidden Armature Works.
Red Bull’s flat gap skateboarding competition goes down this Friday at one of the area’s most scenic riverside locales. Skaters will jam to win city-wide bragging rights and a sweet cash prize, with the winner punching a ticket to compete in Mind the Gap Atlanta later this year. Anyone can enter and it’s completely free—just know you may be in the company of up-and-coming pros Jiro Platt and Devin Flynn. But that’s never stopped you before.
Fete du Vene
Thursday – Saturday | Various Locations, Tampa
Once your done ripping pop shove-its, head on over to one of Cru Cellars’ top-level wine-tasting events this weekend.
A cocktail dinner benefitting Feeding Tampa Bay, a “Bouzy Bubbles Party” and “The Grand Tasting” are all on the lineup from Thursday to Saturday, each featuring its own unique vino experience. If you know Cru Cellars—whether it’s natural wine, local fare or original cocktails—you know that they do everything exactly right. Locations for this weekend range from Hyde Park Village to the Thousand & One Penthouse in Water St.
Sunday Breakfast & Bucs Watch Party
Sunday 9 a.m. | Big Storm Brewing Co., Clearwater
On to Sunday’s main event.
The Bucs are back, baby!
Or at least back enough that a Sunday Kegs & Eggs party with fellow swashbucklers, morning beers, Joe Bucs Fan, Ira Kaufman, a Bloody Mary bar and a full-blown brunch menu at Big Storm Brewing Co. sounds enticing. Come hang to watch the Bucs take on the Seahawks in Munich, Germany, wherein we presume the locals are overwhelmingly in favor of Tom Brady and the good guys.
The fun starts at 9 a.m. with both indoor and outdoor seating.
