The Identity Tampa Bay recommends three things to do this weekend:
French Fry Festival at 3 Daughters Brewing
Friday 6 – 10 p.m. | 3 Daughters Brewing, St. Pete
It goes Batman and Robin, John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Daryl Hall and John Oates, and then right behind those two, it’s French fries and beer.
That’s arguably the fourth best duo of all time (incredible) hitting St. Pete Friday night to set your weekend culinary bar extremely high. Within that duo you’ll find four different fry takes from four noteworthy food trucks: Pamz Pizza Cones, Anju Korean Gastro, Flip”n Tasty Filipino, and Maggie on the Move.
No glamour, no competition. Just you scarfing down all four concoctions and washing them down with an ice-cold, 3 Daughters beer. Not a bad way to bid your work week adieu.
Tampa’s Biggest Birthday Bash
Saturday, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. | Water Works Park, Tampa
Tampa is turning 135 years old. Which in European years, is like, 12. But in human years, still a solid 17 years older than the world’s oldest living person.
Take that, Sister Lucile.
Anyways, you’re invited to its birthday party this weekend. In which interactive exhibits, games, prizes, live entertainment, food trucks and more will take Water Works Park for a Saturday of good family fun. And in true, reverse birthday party fashion, the first 100 guests will actually be receiving gifts. Think of it as a community networking event meets backyard cookout for your oldest, favorite relative.
Chris Tucker Live
Sunday, 6 & 9 p.m. | Seminole Hard Rock Casino, Tampa
We were going to start with a Rush Hour joke here. But Chris Tucker is more than that.
He’s the star of one of the greatest comedies of a generation in Friday. The scene-stealer in one of the best films of the last ten years in Silver Linings Playbook. He’s the inspiration and architect for dozens of culture-shifting comedians who soon followed after. And he’s playing not one, but two shows at the Seminole Hard Rock this Sunday, serving as a phenomenal centerpiece for a Sunday Funday at the tables.
We hope you understand the words that are coming out of our mouths.
