The Identity Tampa Bay recommends three things to do this weekend:
Bucs Draft Party
Thursday 7 p.m. | Big Storm Brewing
Plenty of draft parties will commence come the countdown, but you can always rely on JoeBucsFan to throw a good one.
It helps that tonight’s affair is going down at Big Storm Brewing’s brand-new taphouse in Ybor City. Expect cold beer, great food, and plenty of Wi-Fi for those plugging into the draft. Oh, and a “Pick the Pick” contest with $1,000 in cash giveaways. Hang with “The Sage” Ira Kaufman and the best fans in town starting at 7 p.m.
Gasparilla Music Festival
Saturday & Sunday | Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, Tampa
Despite every bad break and obstacle possible relating to their stomping grounds, GMF lives on—with Run the Jewels, no less!
This year’s lineup is succinct, with only two days of live music sprawled throughout Downtown Tampa. But it certainly packs a punch. Aside from big acts like Jewels, Chromeo and Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, the local scene is showing up strong. Wherein bands like Shevonne & The Force, Shelby Sol, Whale Feral, Pusha Preme and more will undoubtedly rep Tampa Bay to the fullest.
Single-Day and Full Weekend tickets are still available for Tampa’s best live music weekend of the year.
Sunscreen Film Festival
Friday – Sunday | Downtown St. Pete
On the other side of the bay, St. Pete digs into a cinematic festival of its own.
One of the best film fests on the gulf coast gets underway this weekend, in which attendees can delight in a unique lineup of motion pictures, as well as mix and mingle with filmmakers, actors, writers, producers and celebs right in Downtown St. Pete.
Just you, Nathalie Boltt, Erin Cahill and the lot chopping it up down Central. Good times.
