The Identity Tampa Bay recommends three things to do this weekend:
Rock the Park
Thursday 6:30 p.m. | Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, Tampa
Popular Atlanta band Gringo Star plays a free show at Curtis Hixon’s underrated outdoor stage Thursday night.
Rock the Park hits a high batting average when it comes to touting a great sound for their monthly live music series, Gringo Star being no exception. They’ll bring their in-demand, psychedelic garage rock vibes and a couple cool openers to boot in rapper Nico Sweet and singer-songwriter Austin Miller.
Tunes start at 6:30 p.m. with authentic Jamaican cuisine available from JAM DISH food truck.
Margarita Wars 2023
Friday 6- 10 p.m. | TPepin’s Hospitality Centre, Town ‘n’ Country
A smokey battlefield of reposado, rock salt and fresh lime is about to take over Tampa Bay in Creative Loafing’s annual clash of tequila.
It’s the only place to sample margaritas crafted by 21 of the area’s best mixologists and bartenders, along with live music, appetizers and the sort to keep the party rolling. The best part? You’re the judge at the end of the day, meaning every sip of margarita is not only delicious, but vitally important.
Grab tickets in advance now and save $25 on admission.
First Friday x Rays Homestand
Friday 6 p.m. | Downtown St. Pete
The first great collab of spring has arrived.
And it’s a beauty.
The Rays are all-caps ROLLING to start the regular season, off to a one-of-a-kind undefeated start not seen since 1884 (!!). They return home Friday for a series against the A’s that just so happens to also be First Friday in Downtown St. Pete. The ultimate pregame before catching a few innings of top-level baseball at the Trop.
