The Identity Tampa Bay recommends three things to do this weekend:
National Oyster Day at The Oyster Bar
Friday 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. | Downtown St. Pete
National Oyster Day is touching down in St. Pete this Friday to finally put that “months with an R” rule to rest.
Starting around lunch, the iconic Oyster Bar will be housing professional shuckers, sea-forward mixologists and fresh oysters from British Columbia, Rhode Island, Maine, California, Florida, and more. Buy them by the dozen, half-dozen or single; order them raw, Rockefeller or fried. The bivalve mollusk possibilities are endless.
Should you arrive between 3 and 6 p.m., you can also count on $1 oyster shooters, $1 Gulf oysters, $5 old-fashioneds, house wine and drafts.
Bolts Brew Fest
Friday 8 p.m. | Amalie Arena, Tampa
The impeccable combo of hockey and beer takes center stage at Amalie Arena Friday night. Only this time it’s beer getting the hard-earned spotlight.
Sample hundreds of craft beer options from more than 50 local, national, and international brands. Local legends and esteemed world crafters alike will have exclusive brews on deck, wherein you can also expect games, music, photo ops and more.
727to813 Live! at FLocale
Saturday 7 p.m. | Seminole Heights, Tampa
A slick one-two punch of Tampa Bay music is taking the stage at FLocale’s Nashville-style venue Saturday for a night of neo-soul and dream-funk. We waxed poetic on Jariah’s sleek sound just last week. Sundé plans to play alongside Katara Trio percussionist Natalie Depergola in what should lead to a memorable night of live music curated by The Music Bureau and FWDThinkers.
Seminole Heights’ latest indie venture touts Westshore Pizza, King of the Coop, Rock Brothers Brewing, a full cocktail bar and live sound stage all under one roof. Admission is free with Jariah opening the night at 7 p.m.
