The Identity Tampa Bay recommends three things to do this weekend:
Gat$ Live at The Brutalist
Friday 8 p.m. | The Brutalist, St. Pete
A Wise Rule of Thumb for Gasparilla Saturday: Find something not-so-Gasparilla to do the night before.
Tampa recording artist Gat$ will have the $5 beers flowing at The Brutalist in a laid-back show that may see some brand-new music hit the speakers. Expect a fun crowd, a beautiful intimate tap room, good music, and local beer. On the topic, the self-proclaimed “Temple of Beer” features 20 constantly rotating taps of Florida’s best breweries, showcasing what’s brewed in-house for Brutalist’s partners and their own amusement.
A brilliant Friday hang on the other side of the bay if we do say so ourselves.
2023 Gasparilla Day Guide
Saturday | Various Locations, Tampa
On to the main event.
Come Saturday, that pirate ship shooting off lasers in the middle of Hillsborough Bay will embark on its prestigious invasion and ignite the Parade of Pirates. Which means it’s time to start scheming.
Head to our Gasparilla Day Guide above where we’ve gathered five plans of attack to help you navigate the high seas, from bar crawls and pre-games to parade-side events and afterparties. Have fun, be safe, and fire the cannons.
Shipwrecked Music & Heritage Festival
Friday – Saturday | The Cuban Club, Ybor City
If you’re looking to go big—to fully imbibe in this town’s most hellish tradition—the Shipwrecked Music Festival at Ybor’s Cuban Club is turning up live music on multiple stages both Friday and Saturday nights.
Live art and heritage exhibits, performers, food trucks, and vendors will be there alongside a packed lineup of bands and artists in the heart of Old Tampa. Tickets range from $25 to $100 with both single-day and weekend tickets available.
