The Identity Tampa Bay recommends three things to do this weekend:
Mustard Service Spring Tour
Thursday 7 p.m. | Crowbar, Ybor City
No condiment affair here. Just a killer band on the rise and one well worth catching for $15.
We saw Mustard Service open for Spanish rock goddesses Hinds at Crowbar back in 2018—a show that lived up to the Hinds hype and put Mustard on our proverbial music palettes.
Thursday night, they’ll be leading the action with Better Than This and Speak Easy joining the party. Check out songs like “Taking up Space” and “(Your Cat) Don’t Stand a Chance.” Doors open at 7 p.m.
Rays vs. Yankees Watch Party
Friday 6 p.m. | Park & Rec DTSP, St. Pete
Nothing heats up a battle of garbage can beer pong like watching the hottest team in baseball. As the official Rays Watch Party heads to Park & Rec Saturday for a showdown against the division rival Yanks.
You’ll have a chance to win tickets to future games, autographed memorabilia and more throughout the evening, undoubtedly leading to another Rays victory. Festivities start at 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. ballgame.
Tacos & Tequila Festival
Saturday & Sunday | Vinoy Park, St. Pete
Fail to get your Cinco de Mayo fill?
More than 30 taco vendors are hitting Vinoy Park this weekend. And they’re bringing a brigade of margaritas, live bands, cold beer and tailgate games with them.
Local distilleries and breweries will be in full force along with global brand favorites for this tequila-soaked soiree. All of which is waterfront in one of the Tampa Bay area’s most beautiful downtown parks. Sounds like a fine daytrip to us.
