This week in Tampa Bay’s Impossibly Stacked Music Scene, Tampa artist and creator Scxtt Aye brings his Doves album release party to Ybor City’s The Attic.
Those in the know of Aye’s local contributions have been anticipating this project in a similar fashion to how the rest of the world might forecast a Kendrick Lamar drop. A delicate balancing act of patience and extremist thirst for the music. In reality, your favorite artist likely has a quarter of Aye’s skillset. And that’s somehow not hyperbole. He’s as intricately involved on the production front as he is in his dense and detailed storytelling. As enthralled in the engineering as he is his stark, moody arrangements.
Aye is set to showcase all of it at Rock Brothers Brewing Co.’s listening room this Thursday, backed by a full band in a special concert put on by FWDthinkers Music and [BeatsnChill]. Doves also features Identity favorites and Planeshift labelmates Stoney Hoop and Junkyrd, the latter of which painted the album’s cover art and will open the night’s first set. T.Couture and DJ Raul the Fool will also be there to contribute to the night’s dizzying array of talent.
