The Identity Tampa Bay recommends three things to do this weekend:
Dunedin Brewery’s 22nd Annual Oktobeerfest
Thursday – Sunday | Dunedin Brewery, Dunedin
The oldest microbrewery in Florida is firing up a smorgasbord of live tunes for its annually beloved take on Oktoberfest.
Bands and artists like Tand, Displace, GoldenEra and Adam & Brock of Perpetual Groove headline a top-tier lineup perfect for Dunedin Brewery’s sneaky-awesome stage. There’s also a Sunday singer-songwriter showcase in which local greats like Kristopher James will let it rip.
And then there’s the matter of the beer. So much beer—both local and festive—to pair alongside a menu of true German fare. The DeLeon Family Oktoberfest Band kicks it all off Thursday night at 7 p.m.
Oktoberfest Tampa
Friday – Sunday | Curtis Hixon Park, Tampa
If you’re in the market for a more enormous outdoor affair, Tampa’s official 11th annual Oktoberfest takes the riverside this weekend in Downtown Tampa.
Sponsors like Creative Loafing, Green Bench Brewing, Goose Island and others contribute to a wild lineup of stein hoisting, beer games and a mustache competition (brush up on your mustache competition rules here), alongside a mouthwatering slate of schnitzel, bratwurst, frankfurters, strudel—basically the works.
Tickets start at a mere $10 for one-day admission.
Tampa Bay Lightning 2022-23 Kickoff Bar Crawl
Saturday 4 p.m. | American Social, Tampa
Folks, there’s Lightning preseason hockey at Amalie Arena this weekend.
You really shouldn’t need much more convincing than that, but if you insist, there happens to be a killer bar crawl paving the way to puck drop Saturday afternoon. The boozing starts at American Social before heading to Harpoon Harry’s, Yeoman’s Cask & Lion, Maloney’s Irish Pub and District Tavern, all of which include special deals, Bolts swag and giveaways.
The Lightning are warming up for another Stanley Cup run—we should all do the same accordingly.
